Frozen Toes

When it is the middle of summer, a 100 degrees and my brain is frying. There is not even a whisper of wind and the sun is burning everything to a crisp, withered stalk I need to remember days like Monday in December.
Seventy five degrees, a nice breeze blowing and my toes are freezing even with a 5 mil wetsuit on. That is when I actually get to go ride my kite board.
I saw this from a slightly different perspective since my buddy Guy Witherspoon was shooting and I was the one getting the frozen toes and dizzy from all the spinning.

Beautiful end of the Day

I spent the day at a football stadium and hardly even watched the game, and not because of all the plastic bouncing around me. I was editing other peoples pictures. But I finished the day having a beer with old friends in the parking lot of the stadium after the game and got to watch a gorgeous winter sunset over the home of Superbowl XLV.

THe Really Fast Guys

Now I am trying to keep up with the really fast guys on snow, wow they are fast. Blisteringly fast regardless of weather and I did not know that you called sliding on ice skiing. I always considered that skating and you used a puck that you swatted with a stick, but I guess that is not on a 40 degree slope either.
Having watched the FIS World Cup racers on the Birds of Prey course in Beaver Creek, never again will I say I go fast on skis.

Quick Girls

Another day in the snow, amazing how fast these girls can turn their skis. Lindsey Vonn did not finish in medals but at least she got down the course for both runs of the Audi Winterfest FIS World Cup Slalom race in Aspen, Colorado.

Flying Snow

A chill is in the air all over, but in Aspen there is a downright freeze going on. Some of the best early snow conditions in years with really cold temperatures made for perfect conditions for the FIS Audi Women's World Cup Giant Slalom race. French racer Tessa Worley won with  total of three onehundreths of a second separating the first three racers. Starting to feel like winter to me.

Welcome to the World Series

The first ever World Series for the Texas Rangers. What an amazing spectacle it was. Being part of it gives me an understanding what die hard baseball fans are attracted to in such a drawn out playoff series. The drama it creates and the stress that they feel. Unlike the football season that comes down to single games, there can be such swings both up and down.
For the Rangers there were great crowds, great wins, some sad loses, just beat by a superior team of the San Francisco Giants in the end. What can fans expect to see next year from the team, that is where the perpetual hope of a baseball fan comes in.

Rangers In the World Series

After what seems like a lifetime of disappointments and broken hearts, a new crop of fired up baseball players have won the hearts of the Rangers faithful by carrying the team into the world series for the first time in the teams history.
What a game and what a series and to defeat the Yankees with Alex Rodriguez going down swinging just takes the cake.

Playoff Win

The Texas Rangers took another early lead in game two of the American League Championship Series. After watching the lead in game one disappear in the eighth inning, no one was comfortable especially when Darren Oliver came in as a reliever. He came thru and the team notched their first ever home playoff win in ten tries.

This is Mr. Diva

My dog Kimo is getting a little big headed these days. He went to a fashion shoot with me and was gonna hang out in the car, maybe march around and chase some cows. Who knew that he would walk himself right into being a character model.
As skittish as he is around people I really did not think he would stand next to a strange girl in high dollar fashion and look comfortable. There he was, sitting on the toolbox of a pickup truck and looking like he owned it. He even snuck past the model after a quick wade in the creek, I was just glad he didn't get his dirty paws on the expensive cloths.

Let Down

A lot of excitement at the American League Championship Series, an electric atmosphere, a Josh Hamilton homer and it all looked wonderful for the Texas Rangers. Taking a 5 to 0 lead over theNew York Yankees early in the game.
In the eighth inning however, the wheels came flying off and the Yankees won 6 to 5, and that hissing you hear is the Rangers fans balloon deflating.
