Deep Snow Thought

I am taking a little inspiration from my dog after looking at some pictures of him as we skinned up the west side of Wolf Creek pass in Colorado. It was a beautiful sunny day, it had not snowed in about a week. The back country still held a blanket of clean, fresh snow and so we hiked a bit into a winter wonderland.
Kimo does not seem to suffer from the typical high altitude exhaustion that I seem to but after 2 hours of breaking his own trail he seemed pretty winded. He kept looking at me asking when we would turn around. Back at the car, the typically shy dog was not even phased by the snowmobiles staging in the open space. He crawled right into the front seat, ignoring water and his typical treats and was fast asleep.
Seems like he lives by the motto, play as hard as your body will let you, then sleep it off en-route to the next play area. Im just looking for a driver on my next adventure so I don't have to do that part myself.

No Islander

The Dallas Stars faced off against the New York Islanders on Friday night. Off to a bit of a rocky start and some really silly plays by goalie Marty Turco made it a struggle for the team but with goals from Loui Eriksson, Brad Richards, Toby Peterson and Brenden Morrow gave the team a 4 to 3 win.

Down in Big D

Starting a new year in Dallas with a Dallas Stars game at American Airlines center. Looked like the hockey team was trying to start on a fresh note too, with Kristofer Barch getting in a fight in the first 5 minutes of the game.
Turn out that it didn't change the outcome much as Daniel Sedin put the Vancouver Canucks up by a score of 2 to 1. They got an empty netter to cap the game off at the end of the 3rd period with a final score of 3 to 1. Some heavy hitting thru out the game but the Stars never could catch up.
